My New Favorite Picture!!

So we have been really busy the last couple of weeks and i feel like i am so behind. I got sick at the End of last week and it took alot of sleeping over the weekend to help. Thank God for brandon watching gavin and just letting me sleep. There was also the mass amount of flooding in Indiana. Brandon actually was off a day of school because driving on back roads was so horrible. It was great for the pond which was low from last years drought but not great for the man space. It has finally dried out. but i am finally catching up. I feel so productive.

Last week When i was talking to one of Gavin's Theripist we were talking about how he has made leaps and bounds of improvement and now he is just soaking up information. But he still struggles with his Gross moter skills. Part of it is his own frustration, he wants to be able to figure everything out and get no help (yes he got that from me). So when he doesn't get it on the first try he will throw it or hit whoever is trying to teach him. (yeah for me cause it is mostly me). So in an effort to work on the gross motor and work on colors and numbers i Dyed Pasta and have been working on putting them on string and making pasta pictures. He has not been thrilled about putting them on strings but it gets better every day. He still only likes to be right on green and blue , and the counting is improving but this is how it goes 1,3,6,7,8,9,10 haha.

My Aunt and Uncle were also her last weekend ( just when i was starting to get sick) Gavin LOVED them visiting. He would take them by the finger and tell them to play or read a story. It was great. He doesn't get to see them much at all normally when my mom and me to Minnesota to see family. So it was really Great to see them. Sorry i was didn't get to hang out with them more. ( See pictures from last post)

So Gavin Still has the "i don't want to eat new things". He has limited himself to maybe about 10 things and about 5 of those are bread/grain related. So not getting tons of variety. I got him into a Program called Feeding Friends. It is an all food based therapy. It makes kids interact with food in non eating ways to work on sensory and touching in hope to work towards the eating. He has to kiss the food, make pictures with food and then at the end actually try to eat. It is really Interesting, and Hard. any one who has met Gavin knows he has a a temper and at the first session he showed his bad side. But that also means it cant get any worse then he was haha. I can't see what the next few weeks of class will do for eating.

another therapist of Gavins said that i should try to cook with him more so that he gets interested. So I have been trying to let him help more. But i realized that it is easier to let him help when we do it from scratch so I am now trying to do more from scratch. It is a little overwhelming cause i am use to only baking from scratch but i am really enjoying it. (Thanks to Sarah and Linds for her blog )Now i am starting from easy stuff. I made homemade apple sauce 2 weeks ago and got really excited when i successfully canned them. Today I made Hot sauce ( bailey family recipe) and tomato sauce and successfully canned that to. Gavin also helped me make pumpkin muffins ( or mermans in Gavin talk) HE loved helping . I never realized how excited i would get over it. I also am realizing that it is healthier to.

We also have Started Gavin on Potty training and it is going AWESOME! I held off cause i thought that Gavin was going to be the worst! I was so wrong. He has peed on the potty every time. He is also so proud of him self. I am so happy!! Thanks Sarah D. For the advice it is great!

I am finally back to the internet and computers. My computer decided to get a virus and hate it self and it took me almost a year to get it back but i am back yeah!!!!!!!!!!

Well Gavin is 2 1/2 now and talking up a storm. He is still slightly delayed but he is catching up. He has been cleared to eat real food ( food everybody normally eats at his age) but he has decided that he is two and he doesn't want to try much of anything. Because of this he still eats jars of baby food to get his meats in. He loves bananas, and strawberry (only at grandmas house, meany) and yogurt is a staple in this house with him. We also have a huge love for COOKIES..... figures. So it is a work in progress. He is still getting breathing treatment but less often. We wont know about the asthma untill around 4. He is a happy little boy!

Brandon is doing ok... He found out that he needs another surgery and as of right now we are getting a second opinion. No fun. School is going well. and the house is getting a little more finished all the time. It is finally starting to be a real forever home. I am doing well just kinda sick of being in the house and can't wait for the weather to improve.

Brandon is back in school and Gavin and I are having a blast learning and enjoying the nice weather ( at least when it is not humid). We have been going to the park every morning after we drop brandon off at school. It is so peaceful, and quite. Gavin has the run of the whole park cause it is early. We love it. we also went to the Children's Muesum last week. There was a guitars and cars exibit and he loved it. He walked up to every car and said "car" he was so proud of him self.

We went to the State fair with Jordan, Jenni, Ben and emma. we had a blast. The kids got to be farmers, and pet/feed animals, and play at the fish pond. We had so much fun and the kids just love playing together.

Gavin had a swallow study last tues. We were hopeing it would tell us if he could eat more solid food and not have to thicken his drinks. But Gavin had a different plan altogether. We only Got a few swallows of liquid before he realized that it tasted like crap and then threw a fit. He started thrashing and it really was a waste of time. So we are still where we left off. But what they did see from the study was that he is still asperating liquid. So we are still on a waiting game

The Colts tranning camp is in anderson for the Next couple weeks. Brandon's Cousin Hollie and I have been going to the camp. We have had a blast!!! We have Gotten Autographs from Peyton Manning, Jeff Saturday, Dallas Clark, Reggie Wayne ,Coach Caldwell, Jamie Silva, Devon Moore and Antoine Bethea. We have had a Blast!!! Gavin Went one day and He loved watching them throw the ball. Every time he would see it in the air he would be like "ball" "ball" It was so much fun. I talked to clark and got Brandon's Jersey signed and told him that i was doing this for my husband becase he had surgery and He asked what type and then said that brandon needs to stick to therpy! It was great!!!

Brandon Surgery! Gavin and the great outdoors!

Brandon Had surgery on Tues. He did really great! He had two pins put in his ankle. It only took about 45 min. He came out and was joking around about bungee jumping ( much to my not liking this) and went home about 45 min after surgery. He had a nerve block so he didn't feel his foot for the first 24 hrs so other then the big cast on his leg you would have never guessed he had surgery. He is doing well now but is bored out of his mind and hates crutches. Gavin had the fun part of surgery he got to go to the Children's Museum with Ben and emma! Thanks again you guys!

Gavin for his birthday got a sand box and we finally got sand for it! He has been having a great time in it. He loves the new back yard and all the running around he can do. He is doing great in therapy for the most part. He is getting a speech therapist on Tues.. He is saying a few words now.. Up, Car, Ball, Cat, outside. We are working on more everyday!! He has a swallow study comingup in Aug. so that we can see if his swallowing has changed since the tonsils came out. So we are just praying that maybe he can eat big boy food!!!

We also went to Haley's 2nd birthday today! We had a lot of fun! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALEY!!!

Dr apt's Birthdays and surgery

I really have sucked at up udateing this. Sorry

SO anyways Gavin had his surgery on the 10th of june. It went well for the most part. We found out that codeine makes him hyper so we had a night of no sleep and nurses waking him for breathing treatments. yeah fun!!! WE got home and he had good days and bad days but over all we have seen an improvement in him. He is making out more words witch may me that his adenoids were to big so he didn't hear himself talking other then like a muffled sound. So that could have improved it. Other wise we haven't really found much else out. It is kind of a waiting game to see how he improves and then to decide what the next step is.

Gavin had his Second Birthday! It was a great party. We had a lot of his little friends come and i think that they all had a great time. It was fun to see him with all the little kids running around!! He was scared of his cake so we sang to him with no cake. And Amber ( brandon's ex student) Gave him a little Einstein's ball and he found it before we started opening presents and well he was done after that. He just wanted the ball. It was funny!! Thanks to everyone who could make it!!!

Brandon has surgery next week on his ankle. So we are in scramble mode to try to get anything left that is big to do done on the house so that he can just sit and relax and get better after surgery! Keep him in your thoughts!!

Dr's Apt!!!

Lately it seems like the boys love to go to the dr.

Gavin is still a puzzle to the Drs. All of His specialty Drs got together and decided on a plan of action a few weeks ago. They are planning on doing :

adding a breathing dr
MRI to check for a malformation at the back of the brain
Take out his tonsils and adenoids
Do a Laringosacopy/ Broncosopy (sp)
And alot of blood work that i can't explain

they want to do all of this in one sitting so that they only have to put him to sleep once. That is where we are at with him.

Brandon Sprained his ankle very badly about 6 weeks ago. With much encouragement we got him to go and get an Xray and see a specialist. Then he had to get an MRI because he tore some tendons. He was supposed to get surgery but the tendon that he injured may actually repair it self over 6 months. It is a 50/50 bet if it will but if it doesn't that he will have to get surgery. He then will be out of commission for 16 weeks with crutch's and everything! So we pray that it fixes itself.

But a bit of Good news!! We put a bid in on a house and they excepted but we are doing inspections and all that good stuff so we are hoping!!!! yeah!!

SICK OF SNOW!!

We are getting cabin fever!! Gavin has had his taste of being able to walk around outdoors and He can't get enough now!! he will bring his Jacket to me and then point to the door!! He loves being outside, now lets hope for some more warm weather!!

Gavin is now able to eat small pieces of cracker and yogurt bites about the size of his finger tip which for him is a great improvement. He also is feed them to himself. Now it is just a fight for him to eat baby food cause he wants to be a big boy!!! Little steps!!! He also is talking a whole lot more but nothing that is really understandable to be a word or it sounds like it and then he will never say it again.

Can't wait for spring witch means BBQ's and freinds and camping We can't wait!!

Gavin's Endoscopy

Gavin had his Endoscopy this smorning. We had to be there at 5 am no fun at all but gavin was in a great mood and was just happy as a clam. We Got to be in the room which was kinda freaky but interesting. They put him under and did the scope in less then 15 min and said everything went well and looked good other then his tonsils look a little big. they also biopsied his intestines, stomach and esophogus. We wont know the results for about to weeks.
I am glad that it is done but i still just feel like i have no answers to what is making him not eat normal. I had this idea in my head that they would find something and it would all be answered and we would start the process of getting him to eat real food. I instead feel like i am still at square one with another test down and who knows how many more to go before we get an answer. In the end it just is great to see that he is doing okay and still my happy little boy!!!

Thanks to everyone who had him in your thoughts and prayers today We really appreciate them!!!

So i have been really bad at updating this but i am going to try my darndest to be good again.

We have had a wonderful Christmas season so far.
We saw Santa at the children's museum. We were with Arayah and Rachelle and we let arayah talk to him first and then we put him on his lap. He as ok while arayah was with him but when she got down He started the lip and almost cried. We Took him again to see if it would go better and we were so Wrong!! He would not let go of me and had his head in my shoulder and would not move or even look at him. Not what i expected but still a great memory.

We had christams with the Westerns and the Dingers last weekend. We had a wonderful time and the kiddos got to play together and it was alot of fun. We have had Christmas with my parents and sister, It is always nice to have christmas the way you grew up and Gavin had a blast!! We have so much more to go and we are enjoying every min of watching Gavin enjoy it all!!

We are still in the baking process and have only had a few causalities to Gavin But he is loving watching them bake!!

Computers hate me that means really bad at updates

since the last time i updated the blog Gavin has turned one, he is crawling, he is pulling himself up, and has most of his front teeth. and he is close to walking!!! We have gone to the state fair, a family reunion, a trip to cinni. ,the zoo and haley turned one and joshua has turned two!!
That is alot!!! My computer hates me so i dont have internet but i am hopeing to have that fixed soon!!

Gavin had a great birthday! on his birthday we went to a surgen to find out about his cyst and he said it didn't seem to affect anything and just to watch it. We had a party at our house and it was a blast he did a good job of screwing up his cake just none of it went in his mouth.

Gavin's dr. decided that we should see a neroligist because of gavin's delay and eatting issues. So we saw her and loved her and she couldn't get enough of Gavin. We have to see how far he progresses before his next visit if not we might have to get an mri So because of that he may have to be put under so we went to go see an ENT (ear, nose and throat dr) and we are now waiting to go threw a swallow study and meet with a speech therepist and wait to see if he has food allergy. It has been along road with drs but we are progressing each day more and more. and we are just happy that he is a happy boy and we love him.

My grandma turned 90 this year so i made her 3 cakes and put 30 candels on each. One had beer tabs on it, one had a tolit, and one hadcards. All related to stories or things we all know grandma loves!!! She loved them. While at the family reunion we got to meet bella , one of my cousins kids and they were just so cute together.

We went on a trip to cinni. with branon's mom and brother and had a blast!!! We went to kings island. We road a bunch of insane rollercoasters one that u lie down on. Gavin and grandma hung out and went on some little kid rides. we went to the water park and we took him on lzy river and had a blast. we also took gavin to his first reds game. We lost but still we had a great time!!We went to the state fair 2 times this year. Once with Jenni and joradan and ben and emma and once with my mom and dad. We had a great time. We also went on the fair train with my mom and dad and gavin loved not having to be in a car seat!!

My Best Friend Kim moved back to Indiana!! I am so excited!!! He boyfriend also made the drive from cali back with her and we all got to meet him!!! Gavin Loved Nick!!! He loved hanging out with them!!

Haley also turned one and We went and saw her make a mess!! It was great she had cake all over and even tried to get jeremy (her dad covered in it) Happy Birthday Little Girl!!
Joshua My roommate from College Son turned two yesterday and we got to go to the Zoo with them!! We had a blast all the animals were out and the boys loved seeing them!!! Happy Birthday Joshua

We have been so busy since school has been out!!

Brandon has a job!!! He will be teaching in west dell comm. schools!! We are so thankful and happy.

Gavin is going to be 11 months, I can't belive it my baby is almost a year. I am having a blast trying to get things ready for his birthday and still enjoying the summer.

Brandon's family had a get together in southern Indiana at Spring mill national park. We had a great time with the family and getting to take hikes!!!

And so is the rain. We have been enjoying the weather but this week we seem to be stuck in rain. We planted all of our flowers last weekend and now the garden is completely flooded. We just can't wait for the weather to improve.

Anderson Schools corp. is laying off a bunch of teachers because of budget cuts and Brandon has been layed off as of the end of the school year. We are praying that he gets one of the open tech jobs. There are not many only a few school systems that still have those classes. We are just being hopeful.

I am getting ready for garage sale season and starting to enjoy my house now that it is all in order. I have my own little scrapbook corner, i am so thrilled about it. I have started Gavins scrapbook and soon will be catching up on the two years that i am behind on. yeah!!!!!!

Gavin is doing great. He is still on the nebulizer (it is indefinite when he can get off of it) He has really learned how to fight us on it. ( I hate it) He is great at the raspberry's and he has now learned how to growl while screaming and it is really funny. He says dada and some little thing of Hi. It is so much fun seeing him grow up and just watching the wheels turn in his head.

I have been a busy person lately and haven't had the energy to get on the computer. We have Rearranged our house and we are kind of working out the kinks and spring cleaning all in one. As happy as i am about it and i am actually enjoying my house so much more, it is hard to change stuff that you are so use to.

But any ways.....

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!

My dad's side of the family came down to Indy and we got to see them for almost two days!! We colored eggs with Jake and Colin and did Easter egg hunts in the front yard. We really had a great Easter!!!

Gavin has had Two play dates in the past month and it was so much fun!!! We went and saw Jenn and Haley and it was interesting to watch them attempt to intereact but in the end just steal toys from each other. And then we went and saw another friend from high school Erica and her son davy. He was only 11 weeks old and 15 lbs. he was adorable and it was fun to see the diffrece in size and actions. Hope we see alot more of the both of them.

Congratulations to Jenni and Jordan and the birth of Emerson Joy (emma)

Jordan and jenni have a son ben who was scheduled to get tubes put in his ears on jenni's due date and jenni said no one ever goes on their due date. haha she was wrong. while ben was getting the tubes put in she started haveing contractions and then drove home and then to the hospital to deliver. She Got to the hospital at noon and was 3 cm got checked and then put in her room and she was 4 cm. She almost didn't get an epidural and had emma at 2:40 She was 9lbs 7 oz. Ben isn't use to emma and he keeps calling emma Gavin. haha Congrats you guys!!!

I knew st. patricks day was coming up but i forgot to buy a cute shirt or something for Gavin so i was a weirdo and bought one yesterday but never got around to posting the picture. so here it is and hope the green beer was great and everyone had fun!!!

Developmental update

Gavin went back for another update on his development on wed. and it went well. He is 8 months but his corrected ae is 6 1/2 months. He is ahead at 9 months with his reflexes and his balance when sitting. For his grasping and holding and rolling over and most other things he is at 6 months so he is right on track. but for his speech he is at 4 months. They said that his tongue isn't as strong as it is supposed to be so he is supposed to chew on textured toys. but what kid doesn't stick everything in their mouth any ways so that shouldn't be hard to do. He isn't sleeping threw the night yet (sucks for us) but they said that should come soon since he is delayed. He was in the 50th percential for height and head size and in the 90th for his weight ( no kidding he is 21 lbs.) But overall he is doing great he loves to stand and jump ALL the time. We are just looking forward to spring and summer and letting him play outside!!! Oh and we got a new stoller so we can't wait to use it more!!!

Last week we decided to go to the children's museum with our friends Rachelle and Arayah. The kids had a great time playing in the Play scape for little kids and staring at all the different things. It was a fun trip!!!

The weather has also been really nice lately(but getting cold again) so we took avin on his first trip to the park and he had a great time on the swings. We also took him down the slide and the fire engine.

We also finally ROLLED OVER!!! we are so happy! he has been catching up to alot of things lately and it is just one more milestone he has reached!!!

Bronchitis

Gavin has been wheezing off and on for a week and it got kinda bad when he learned to like his stomach. We went to the dr. today and well Gavin has a small case of bronchitis. No fun. He is in a great mood and you would never guess he was sick other then his cough and wheezing. Well they now have him on a nebulizer (no idea how to spell that) and antibiotic and a steroid. He has a cute little dragon mask he has to wear for the nebulizer.

But on a happier note Gavin loves to laugh and i finally got it on video !!!!!

It has been awhile work was such an odd schedule that i rarely ever got a chance to get on the computer!!! I am back home with my little man and enjoying it again! now i just have a mess of a house to deal with haha!!

Congrats to my friends The Dingers the found out that they are pregnant!!!!

Gavin is doing great he is sitting up all by himself and is starting second foods!! He got his first pair of tennis shoes, and he loves them!!! He just loves to stand now and bounce up and down!! He is such a happy baby!!! We go in for his next development check up a week from wed. and i am so happy that everything he was behind on he is now doing, just a little later then most!!! We are now using our arms while on his belly! and we can kind of clap our hands!!

6-7 months super bowl and sickness

Gavin is going to be 7 months old on tues. And i just got back his 6 month pictures. haha way to take forever. Anyways things haven't been horrible around here, but not great.

On Super Bowl Sunday we had Jordan and Jenny and brandons' mom over. We had some good food and some great laughs thanks to Gavin and Ben. Gavin just loves watching ben and it just maks him smile so big!! It is so cute they are going to be great friends one day!!

Last week Gavin got the flu on mon. and then i got it on tues. and it was not fun at all. Tues was the day that it snowed really bad and Brandon's friend died because of an acciedent. So i stayed at my parents house since i was at work when i started to feel bad. My mom got it later that afternoon and brandon kinda had it for a couple days after that. After 2 days of that i got a sinus infection. wow i am doing so well health wise!!! NOT!!

Brandon's freind jackson had a baby on fri. and so did my freind sam!! Sam's son was 9lbs 1 oz and is named Masan. Brandon doesn't know all the info on Jackson's so to be cont. Congrats to both of them!!!!

Gavin is doing great he has finally found his feet and actully plays with them. He loves to play piano at my mom's house and he now can sit in a high chair!!! Yeah!!!

Prayers

On tues, feb 3 one of Brandon's friends died in the accident that occurred on I-69. He has known Ryan for years and this is just a horrible accident that happened. Ryan was going out to a job site and the work truck that he was a passenger in was struck by 2 semis. I just ask for prayers for the family and those who knew Ryan. This is going to be a very hard few days for Brandon so please pray for him.

ANDERSON — Ryan A. Phillips, 28, of Anderson, passed away Feb. 3, 2009, as a result of injuries related to a traffic accident.

He was born July 26, 1980, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident. He graduated in 1998 from Anderson High School and received an electrical degree from Ivy Tech.

He worked for the City of Anderson Light and Power for eight years and the past six months for CAT Communications, Inc.

Ryan was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his 4-wheel ATV.

He is survived by his wife of 14 months, Ivy C. Phillips of Anderson; four children, Rylee Phillips, Jaxin Phillips, Braden Nance and Charlee Grace Phillips; parents, Allan D. and Joan I. Phillips of Anderson; brother, Matthew R. Services will be conducted at noon Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by Skip Ockomon. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

On sat. Gavin turned 6 months!!! He had his dr. apt. today and he is now 18 lbs and 27 In. Such a growing boy. He is now eating baby food. He so far likes applesauce, pears, peas, & sweet potatoes.
We also borrowed this bouncy thing from our friends Arayah and Rachelle and he loves it.

Sorry it has been so long!! We have been so busy that i am just not on my computer enough!! Well we had a wonderful Christmas and Gavin got many wonderful gifts. Because of his delays he can't play with most of them but they are waiting on him and we are working to get him to his toys!!!
We spent Christmas eve with Brandon's family and it was great!! Gavin played with his cousins and stayed up late like a true Bailey!!! On Christmas day we drove to Chicago and spent Christmas with my dad's side of the family!! We had tons of fun and My God son Colin was just In love with Gavin and was a great helper!! ( Christmas photos to come they are on a different camera that i left with my mom on accident)
For new years we stayed down town Indy with Brandon's family and had a blast!! He made it past midnight, and we discovered that he is starting to get an I tooth ( Incisor according to Brandon) so it explains alot of the not happy moments. On New years day we left for Orlando Fla. Gavin was a great travler, he has a little frog thing that plays music on his carrier that we are now sick of the song that it plays but he loved it the whole way there and back. While in Fla. we went to Coco Beach and universal Studios. Gavin took his first trip to the pool and started to fall asleep cause the water was like bath water. at Coco beach ,Gavin Loved the sand and i think he would have eaten all that sand if he could have ( Linz the shirt is so True). He also Took a nice nap on the beach. At universal Brandon and I kinda had a date day, My mom took Gavin around to all the kiddy stuff and enjoyed just relaxing and taking everything in. She and Gavin got her picture taken with some of the Simpson's! Brandon and I had a great time and it was really nice to be a kid again and then come back to Gavins great smiles!!!

For those of you who read about his devolpmental delays it is good to know that if u keep doing things over and over they really do kinda get it. He is getting better at the grasping which is what he was at a 2 month level. He holds a blankie now, and can even hold his bottle ,but not for the whole feeding but it is a start!! He also still doesn't sleep through the night, blah for me, but last night he went 8 hrs between bottles!!! about 6 of that was sleeping so i got to sleep about 5 hrs in a row!!! That is so rare haha!!!
( I know that isn't holding it i just can't find that picture, but it is cute anyway)

So with the holidays coming around, my favorite part is here.... Cookies and decorating the cookies!!! I have about a weeks worth of baking to do and about 2 days worth of decorating sugar cookies and Ginger bread men!!! I know it sounds like a lot but I LOVE IT!!!! If anyone wants some let me know!!!!

The Big Boy is now five months. 16.6 lbs and still 24 in.
Can't believe how time flys. We are still working on some stages that he hasn't hit that he should. But we are getting there and that is part of him being born early his mind wants to do what his body isn't ready to do yet. Just put us in ur prayers. Him being delayed on some things is really hard on me right now, I know he will catch up, Just have to take it one day at a time!!

Gavins Developmental Follow up

The Hospital that Gavin was born at has a program where they track the progress of the preemies and watch for developmental delays and then tell you how to bring them up to the stage they need to be or if you need to go to a specialists they well catch it earlier then a dr would.

Well Gavin's chronological ge is 4 3/4 months, but his corrected age ( what he should have been) is 3 1/2 months.

He is doing great growing, His head size is in the 90th percentiles, his weight (16.4 lbs) is in the 75th percentiles and his size (24 in.) is in the 25th percentiles. It looks like he got cursed with being short like me. We can hope not.

His reflexes are at a 5 month level, grasping is at a 2 month level, visual motor skills is at 4 months. his expressions are at 3 months and comprehension is at 3 months.

Over all he is doing really well, Just have to work on using our arms and holding things. He is doing Great and now we are just waiting for Christmas!!

Sorry it took so long to update on here. I have been fighting with a sinus infection off and on the past month. I am getting better!! yeah !!

Gavin turned 4 months on mon. We had a Dr. apt today!!! He is 14 lbs & 9 oz. and 24 in long!!! He also got the second round of shots!!! No fun, but he sleeps all day and when he has recovered he is the same happy boy!!

He is a growing boy!!!! He is trying so hard to sit up he is not a fan of laying down as much any more and if you pull him up he will stiffen up his legs and stand up!! WOW he is just a joy to have around and i still can't believe it has been 4 months!!!!

Also Congrats to Taby and Gene they had a baby Boy the end of Oct. His name is terry!! I haven't gone and seen him yet cause of the sinus infection I can't wait !!!! Congrats you guys I am so happy that your family is growing and he looks beautiful!!!!

Yesterday linz , mom old roomie from college, met Gavin for the first time but it was only for a brief min. She came over today and got to see the little guy and hold him. To bad it wasn't better circumstances, Gavin has a bad cold so he wasn't the happiest little baby in the world. But I think she still enjoyed every min. she had with him. Can't wait for them to move and then her and Joshua (her son)can come over more often!! It was great to hang out again.

My mom really wanted to go to get a pumpkin with Gavin so while my dad was out of town my mom and me went to stony Creek with Gavin and got him a huge pumpkin that hopefully we can put him in. We had fun just had to wait in line forever. After having fun with pictures and finding the pumpkin we were waiting to get back on the hay ride when i saw my roomie Linz from college with her son getting off the ride. it was her first official meeting of Gavin. She was so happy!!

So BIG!!!

Gavin is growing like a weed, he is some where around 13 lbs. He is giggling and smiling alot now and just loves playing in his play yard!! He is also still sleeping in the big crib and we are sleeping at least 5 hours at a time!!!

Gavin can some times hold his own bottle and still is loving his baths!

We took him to the Atlanta festival and had a blast with him. He slept threw most of it but i think he had a good time.

Sept. 5th was Brandon's Birthday and today the 10th is michele's.

On fri i got lunch from Applebee's for Brandon and had it at home for his lunch. Then later on that night my aunt and my Grandma were in town and we all went to Olive Garden. My dad torchered him by having his sung to, he hated every min. of it. Gavin and I got Brandon a walk of fame brick for the new stadium. It will be outside of the stadium and will be there always, we also get a replica.
On Sat. we went out to Red Lobster with his Grandma and Grandpa Norrick and Mom and Brother. We had really good food and had a great time!! I also made brandon a cake!

Michele birthday is today and she is going to come over for awhile and hang out. Later we are going to take her to joe's crap shack, she can't wait!!

Last night we took Gavin out to dinner with us. We went to Texas Roadhouse and had a great dinner with Brandon's Cousin Becky and her Husband. We came back and played board games. I also got to drink my first beer since he was born. I was so happy to get a Corona Light!

Yesterday was Brandon and I's 1 year Anniversary I can't believe it! It seems like not that long ago we were trying to figure out all the wedding plans. Now we are a family with the addition of Gavin and our wonderful kitty Madison. Wow!

We had a wonderful day as a family. We went to the park and had a picnic, it was kinda rainy but the weather looked just like it did on our wedding day, except it didn't actually rain last year. We took Gavin with us and just made it seem perfect. We took him on his first walk in his stroller and he slept right threw it.

Then last night we took Gavin to my mom's house so we could go to the movie Dark Knight. It was really weird to be with out Gavin. Every where we have gone he has been with us, but mom of coarse had a blast with Gavin and is enjoying being a grandma!

One year, a great year and many more wonderful years to go I can't wait!!

3 Weeks Old!!

Yesterday Gavin was 3 weeks old!!

I had him laying on his tummy yesterday for tummy time and he actually rolled over!! He isn't supposed to be able to do this yet but he did, and he did it TWO times!!! He is so strong!!!

We also got him weighed today and he is now 6 lbs. 1 oz. He is getting bigger!!

Yesterday was my Dad's Birthday!! It was really nice to have the family over for dinner and seeing them enjoy Gavin! His first birthday as a Grandpa, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

We have also had a few visitors over and it is so much fun seeing relatives with him and just so surprised over how little he is and how much hair he has!!! Aunt Jodie came over with some of the rug rats. Quinton and Alyssa both held him and seemed so thrilled to have another little one in the family! Quinton also i think is really happy that he isn't the youngest anymore! hehe
Cousin Becky and her daughter Sydney also stopped by and just enjoyed the little guy!!

My old roomie from college Linz just cracks me up she ordered us pizza for dinner the other night all the way from Ga. Got to love the roomie!! Thanks we really enjoyed it!

Gavin is now two weeks old and still doing great!!! He had his first Dr.'s appt. today and everything went well! he said that he looks great and well on his way!! He is taking his bottles great and still isn't really all that much of a crier! (lets hope it stays that way) Madison is getting more use to him still not really sure what to do with him or why he is here!! Things are going great!!

Both Grandma's Michele and Shirley and Grandpa Doug have come to see Gavin and he also got to meet his uncle Zach and Great Grandma Norrick. Gavin seems to like to meet new people cause he stays awake to hang out!!

Gavin is Home!!

Great news!!! Gavin got to come home this afternoon! We had a great night at the hospital and he is eatting really well so he got cleared to come home. With him being a premie we have a few dr. apts to go to but we are just thrilled that he is home!!
Madison (the kitty cat) hasn't really noticed that he is here just kinda smells him and walks away. so that is also good!!!
If anyone wants to come and meet the little guy just give us a call to make sure we are here!!

Gavin gets to come home some time this week!!!

The night before he comes home we get to be apart of a program called Homeward bound. It allows us to stay at the hospital the night before he comes home. We get to have him in the room and do everything for him just like we would have at birth if it had been normal. It is really nice because if we have any questions or anything they will help in anyway they can. It is a really great idea. It also means that we don't miss out on that night in the hospital that everyone else gets.

We can't wait for him to be home! We are scrambling to get everything done at the house that we thought we had a month and some days to do. His nursery is done for the most part and we really like it. We decided to go for the theme of fish, so we have Nemo all over the walls, and green and blue as the colors!!

Well as some of you have heard our son was born!!!!

On Mon. night my water broke. Not exactly a good thing when i was only 33 weeks. The hospital that we were supposed to deliver at only takes babies at 35 weeks so we got transfered to Ball Memorial Hospital. I was then put on magnesium to slow contractions down, so i could also get 2 shots of steroids to help his lungs develop. Well the level of Magnesium that they gave me ended up being to much and at one point was considered toxic to me. I was pretty much a veggi. After 2 days of that they took me off of the magnesium on wed night and if i went into labor they were going to let me. Well by thurs afternoon i was 3 cm. Got an epidural and then another drug for nausea and that knocked me out. So when i finally kinda woke up i was good to go. Gavin was born at 9:35 he was 5lbs 3 oz and 19 1/4 in. He is in the NICU He is doing well and breathing on his own. Just a waiting game on when he can come home.

Right after he was born i was having problems breathing and it turns out that the magnesium caused me to get some fluid on my lungs and have to have ct scans and x rays and feel like crap for 2 days. I have to do respiratory therapy for awhile and i am on meds to clear it up. I am getting back to normal and finally got to come home. Thanks you for all the calls and congrats!! We really appreciate it

This past weekend my wonderful sister threw me a baby shower. It was wonderful!! Thank you so much Sis!!! It was my dad's side of the family and it was great to see so many of them since i don't get to go to the family reunion this year( to close to my due date). But we played funny games and had a good food!!!After the shower some of the men in the family came over and we had a cookout! My godson colin and his big brother also came and they had fun and helped finish off the cake!! Makes me wish all the family lived closer to each other but i guess 4 hrs will have to do!! So we have been really busy this weekend with both got to vist with friends we havn't seen in awhile which was great. I got to go to Ft. Wayne and see Than and Jen Presslers new little addition to the family. Andrew was also there and Jay it was really great to have all of us back together hanging out. And seening Than with his little baby girl was so great!!

My best freind was also in town from Cali, to see her new neice so i got to hang out with her one night. And thanks to her mother we have the first offical belly pictures. She also made me watch Juno cause she is convinced it is me. haha!!Brandon got to hang out with some frat brothers at the race track, and he also got to see some family at a little family reunion. I couldn't go so that i could see my best friend. But we finally get to see each other and have a little cookout with some other friends so it has been along weekend and very enjoyable. Hope everyone else had a great one too!!

Well i know it has been awhile but nothing really has been going on.
My Mom and me went to Minnesota for a week. We had a great time, we went garage saleing with one of her best friends Mary-jo. We got so much baby stuff it isn't funny! I even got a Lay-z-boy! We also got to see my aunt and uncle which was nice. It was really nice to be able to travel and have a good time with my mom. Next year i will have a little man with me, that is just weird to think about.
I had another Ultra sound on tues, because the one at 20 weeks made the heart look like it was off center or crocked or something like that. Every thing has turned out to be ok and just fine. She said thought that it must have been the way he was laying. She did tell us he is still a boy! haha. He is also 2.6 lbs. Which apparently is i guess the average weight for 28 weeks and i am only 26. I guess that means he is healthy and a going to be a big boy. Other then that things here are going well. He is kicking alot and i am losing my belly button slowly but surely I think with in a week it will be an outtie.

Our Blog

So i have been told by multiple people that I need to start a blog before the baby is born. I have to admit i am not very good at these, but i will try my best. I am guessing that once the baby is born it will be easier to update cause there will be cute pictures and the baby will be entertaining is some funny way.
Well let see ...on Tues. we found out that the baby is a boy. Within the first few seconds of the ultrasound he showed us his stuff. Brandon said he was determined to not be dressed in pink! haha It was so great to see the baby and how he has grown and to see Brandon's reaction to seeing his son on the ultrasound. It was the first time Brandon had been able to make it to an ultrasound. Next Mon. We will be half way to the baby.
Well i will try to post pictures later and try to keep this updated the best i can!!
